1 Per tutto c' è un momento, un tempo per ogni cosa sotto il cielo:

un tempo per piantare, e un tempo di sradicare ciò che si è piantato,

3 un tempo per uccidere, e un tempo per curare,
un tempo per demolire, e un tempo per edificare,

4 un tempo per piangere, e un tempo per ridere,
un tempo per fare lutto, e un tempo per danzare,

5 un tempo per gettare pietre, e un tempo per raccogliere pietre,
un tempo per abbracciare, e un tempo per ritrarsi dagli abbracci,

6 un tempo per cercare, e un tempo per lasciar perdere,
un tempo per conservare, e un tempo per gettare via,

7 un tempo per strappare, e un tempo per ricucire,
un tempo per tacere, e un tempo per parlare,

8 un tempo per amare, e un tempo per odiare,
un tempo di guerra, e un tempo di pace.
